Season Winds Down

Most of our tennis players are gone. The courts look sad. I had an opportunity to be at the courts the other day and by chance met a lady named MaryEllen Halm. She is just here for a few days, but I told her all about our program and hopefully MaryEllen will come back next season to spend some time with us. She is a former teacher and tennis coach. She's very active in the USTA community building program. She's a 3.5 player and would be a wonderful addition to our group. Besides that, she's just a very nice person. COME BACK, MARY ELLEN.

I don't know how many of you saw Glenn Arnold before he left. In case you didn't, here's a picture of what happened on one of his last games of tennis here. Tennis can be a dangerous sport for us old folks............................

As for other injuries, I'll be back in the tennis business shortly. My neurologist evaluated the MRI I had done. Results..................no surgery needed.............just need time to heal.............taking new anti inflammatory meds. Such good news for me................yeah. I'll be trying my leg out this week on the courts if I can find anyone willing to play with an old cripple.

Hope everyone made it home safely and you're out on the courts getting ready for next season. We'll have some new competition as several pickleball players and working on their tennis game.

New Event for Next Season

Next season we will be starting a Women's Round Robin on Saturday mornings. This was an idea from Penny Mason who felt it would be the perfect time to play with ladies that we just can't get scheduled with during the week. Sounds like a great idea to me. Thanks for the idea Penny.

PENTATHALON...........THE FINALISTS

Pentathalon - Golf

Our contestants hit the links on Thursday for the fourth event in the competition. Pete McGannon and Rick Watkins managed to take first place for the men. Rhoda Zaph and Marg Wildeman squeaked past Connie Emerson and Penny Mason by one stroke to take first place in golf.
